The archeological work done at Dor was not how most would imagine an archaeological dig to go. We worked in loci (areas of consistent composition), we did not systematically remove layer after layer of earth, but rather pit after pit. And instead of toothbrushes we used pic-axes and trowels. It was a lot more nitty gritty than I imagined.
