At first our trip to Germany felt like a joke gone way too far. The whole thing started when a dormmate criticized our travel plans one night. Next thing you know, we're invited to his house and meeting him in Düsseldorf after a 9 hour bus ride across the country.
Two friends and I left for Berlin Wednesday night and got to our hostel, the Meninger Central Station, around 11:30pm. The place was spotless, the beds so comfortable, and in a great location, I would highly recommend it. That night we ended up in a couple of random bars, one of which suspiciously felt like we were in Hot Topic by night.
Thursday we took a free walking tour through New Europe. Our tour guide was Barry, a jolly Irishman who absolutely loved the city. If you go to Berlin do the tour, ask for Barry, you won't be disappointed. That night we went to Week End, a techno club on the top of a skyscraper, great night.
